Download from Filmbankmedia lets you play licensed films at your event straight from your laptop — no disc and no new equipment needed. You can access it via https://downloadmanager.filmbankconnect.com/

Before you start

It works on all laptops using the Chrome browser, as long as you’re connected to the internet to download your film and stay connected during your screening (this is for background security checks). The internet bandwidth required is minimal and even mobile hotspot is sufficient.

How to download your film in 5 easy steps

Here’s a quick checklist of everything you need to make sure your Download screening goes smoothly.

  1. Choose and license: Check to see if your chosen film is available via Download (This information is easily found in the Notice section of each film page). Then Email info@filmbankmedia.com to license your film and get your Download login details.
  2. Visit https://downloadmanager.filmbankconnect.com/, login and download your film. Film files are approximately 5-6 GB. You can even select different audio languages and subtitles, if they’re available.
  3. Connect and Test: Now you’re ready to connect your computer to your screen/projector with a HDMI cable. (Check that you’ve closed any other apps or tabs).Make sure to test your film set-up at least 48 hours before your screening. To do this, use AV Test to play short clips of your film (up to 15 minutes long) and ensure smooth playback. You can do this as many times as you need to.
  4. Switch to Play Video mode and select your language.
  5. Check that you have a stable internet connection, as your device will need to remain connected for the duration of your screening. Only minimal bandwidth is required, making Download suitable for venues or locations with limited internet access. This ensures that the film file and your screening remain secure and compliant with studio regulations.

Now all you need to do is enter full screen, press play and enjoy your Download screening with your guests!
